Ginger Tea
Ginger tea is a great remedy for flue and sore throats. It also invigorates, helps indigestion and nausea. Better yet, it is part of the detox diet!
Here are also some easy to do recipes.
Ingredients:
Water, 4 cups
2-inch piece of fresh ginger root
Optional: honey and lemon slice
Peel the ginger root and slice it into thin slices. Bring the water to boil in a saucepan. Once it is boiling, add the ginger. Cover it and reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain the tea. Add honey and lemon to taste.

Keep in mind that if you are making ginger tea as a home remedy when having cold and flu, sweeteners are not recommended.

Lettuce & Celery Soup
Ingredients:
1 head lettuce, washed, shredded
1/2 stalk of celery, washed, peeled,
cut in small pieces
3 cups water
2 cups milk, scalded
2 tablespoons butter
Seasoning to taste
Directions:
Put all ingredients, except milk,
in a stew pan.
Cover.
Boil for 10 minutes.
Add the milk.
Boil slowly for about 10 minutes.
Then serve.
